# Constituent, Source and Freshness Policy

All current constituent and weight data is time-sensitive.

Source hierarchy

  1. S&P Dow Jones Indices is authoritative for index methodology and official index constituent/style allocations.
  2. State Street benchmark disclosures may be used for validation of benchmark counts, top holdings and sector composition.
  3. ETF fund holdings are useful operational cross-checks but can differ from index weights because of cash, sampling, corporate actions and timing.
  4. SEC filings and company annual reports are authoritative for company financial and business disclosures.
  5. Company investor-relations materials may supplement filed information.

Publication rule

A current Growth/Value membership badge must not render unless the record includes the source, effective date and retrieval date. If current official allocation data is unavailable, the site should say that the classification is awaiting refresh rather than infer it.

Historical records

Never overwrite style history. Append a new snapshot and retain prior values so users can see style migration over time.
